If you are a movie lover then you would have heard of the annual Cannes Film Festival. However for all you people that don’t know about this famous film festive then let me enlighten you. The Cannes film festival was originally founded in 1946 and is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals.
The Cannes film festival is a private ordeal that is held annually in the French town of Cannes in the south of France. The venue in Cannes for this popular event in any movies lovers’ calendar is the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
The Cannes film festival has always been seen as a reflection of its era. The festival is a showcase filmmaker’s talent in respect to all tastes and play homage to all contributors to the birth and distribution of films.
At the core of the Cannes film festival is the passion for motion pictures, the discovery of new talents, the enthusiasm of festival-goers and professionals from around the world. This years Cannes film festival will take place from 12th to 23rd May 2010 with the official selection being announced in mid-April.
Cannes 2010, which is now in its 63rd year, will be headed by Tim Burton, the film director famous for classic movies such as Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas and more recently Alice in Wonderland. Tim Burton is officially this years Jury President.
Over the years, the French Association of the International Film Festival has tried to evolve the film festival in Cannes whilst still retaining its prestige. As we know the film industry is constantly changing its boundaries. Because of this the film festival does not wish to simply coast along on the prestige of its name, but wants to be as pioneering as the industry it represents.
Upon accepting the invitation from Gilles Jacob and Thierry Frémaux, Tim Burton was quoted as saying: "After spending my early life watching triple features and 48-hour horror movie marathons, I’m finally ready for this. It’s a great honour and I look forward, with my fellow jurors, to watching some great films from around the world. When you think of Cannes you think of world cinema. And as films have always been like dreams to me, this is a dream come true."
We don't yet know which film and film-makers will be competing at Cannes 2010 but it looks set to be another great showcase of high calibre directorial talent. I can’t wait for the red carpet to be laid, the show to begin. Lets see who walks away with this years coveted Palme d'Or.
If you wish to be kept up to date with what is going on at the Cannes 2010 film festival than Indie Movies Online will be providing coverage for the duration of the 2010 festival. Indie Movies Online provide free movies online.

Being Organised is the Key to Success
Our world is developing and evolving quickly and today we live in a fast moving information age. The flow of information is moving so fast that at times it seems impossible to keep up. People are rushing around, our work load is usually overbooked, there are not enough hours in the day and everyone appears stressed.
Let’s face it in the real world some things we have no control over, but we do have control over how we manage these things either at home or at our place of work.
Benjamin Franklin once said “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” By getting your life and work in order will help increase your sense of self-esteem, confidence, and pride. Better organisation will help you to reach your goals in life and in time help you become an extremely successful person. Without some form of organisational structure your life could become chaotic and your days could be full of stress.
Surely we all want to make our lives easier so it is advisable to take some time to get organized! The best way to do this is by using a day planner / personal organiser ( Terminplaner - hee hee i'm in the process of learning German). These are usually small (ish) portable folders / books which usually containing a diary, calendar, address book, and other sections which help you to organise your time and information. Digital day planners / personal organisers and online organisers are also available.
Day planners / personal organisers are the perfect tools to help people organise their busy schedule, keep track of upcoming events, and maintain a list of ongoing tasks they need to accomplish. Some day planners even contain useful other items such as maps, magnifying glasses, telephone codes and notepaper.
The most famous branded (and in my opinion the best on the market) day planners are those made by Filofax. The name Filofax has become synonymous with personal organisers and its brand name is now generally used to describe all types of personal organisers / day planners.
There are many advantages to getting yourself organised that include reduced stress, saving time, and working more efficiently. It is even economical to make sure you are organised. By taking the time to plan and organise your life or work, you'll end up saving time and/or money. Generally for me I find that since I have used a day planner I can better manage my time (work and social) and prioritise all my daily tasks. In my mind things now seem to fall into place when working within deadlines and limits. I have managed to achieve more balance in my life.
Also I just want to finish by saying that by becoming more organised does not mean that all the spontaneity and fun of life goes away. In fact I have found that it actually increases my ability to accomplish more and enjoy my life to its fullest.
So go get organised and take one more step towards your goals.
